Rocky Mountain Raceway

Last weekend, we celebrated Mother's Day by going to Rocky Mountain Raceway. I think everyone had fun and enjoyed watching the cars race! I know we loved it and can't wait for the next race!

Eclipse and Sadie's Birthday

Last Sunday, we celebrated Sadie's seventh birthday! We had lots of fun together and we even got to kind of see an eclipse.

It was pretty cloudy, but if you look closely, you can see it.

Meredith

Sadie was refusing to smile. She was trying her hardest!!

I told her to make the saddest face she could.

Then, I told her to make the happiest face she could.

Cousins. Cute kids!

We ended the night with cake. As you can tell, Cruz loved it!

Right after taking this picture, our camera broke. :(

I really don't understand this boy!

Mace is going through this phase, where he thinks it is hilarious to take his pants off. He loves it and laughs while doing it. The more I push for his pants to be on, the more he seems to want them off! Anyone ever dealt with this? At least we get a good laugh out of it!

Cleaning helpers

When we announced that it was cleaning time, Mace grabbed the broom and said, " I will clean right here!" It was really cute!

Bed Head Hair

This little boy had some seriously, cute bed head hair this morning. Couldn't decide which picture I like best!

He was waving with both hands in this one!

He really likes blinking his eyes lately!

I guess this one shows his hair off the best. I love how he was reaching for the one closest to the edge, when  there were still some within reach.

Bath Time

This morning, the I decided it snap some pictures during bath time.

Cruzer looks so grown up in this picture. Cute boy.

Mace. Notice how happy he is to be taking a bath.

The before picture: (Again, notice how happy Mace is.)

The after picture. Mace hates getting his hair washed. Cruz, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind!

Cruz's little laugh

Cruz has this new laugh. It is hilarious! We love it!

Funny things Mace has said

Mace cracks us up all the time. Here are a few thing he has said lately:

  • We were trying on shoes in Payless Shoes, and when Mace had found a pair he liked, he said, " These ones are good for kicking." He then did a big kick in the air!

  • When Mace was sitting on the toilet, this was our conversation:
    • Mace- It's potty time.
    • Me- Yep!
    • Mace- Mommy, what's on your teeth?
    • Me (realizing I have food in my teeth)- Oh, I guess it is food. Did I get it?
    • Mace- Yeah. It was probably a bug. That's really yucky, huh?
    • Mace (after passing gas) It stinks now. It's poop time.
    • Me (trying not to laugh)- Yeah, I guess it is.
    • Mace- We don't poop in our pants, only in the toilet. I don't have a diaper.

  • When we were eating oatmeal for breakfast:
    • Mace- I'm making a rocket in my oatmilk (as he sculpted his oatmeal into a rocket)
    • Daddy- Where are you going to go on your rocket?
    • Mace- Not to the moon, it is too cold. I am going to the sun. The sun is hot. A few moments passed and then he took his first bite of his hot oatmeal.
    • Mace- (full of surprise) Daddy, my oatmilk rocket is getting hot!
  • Seconds after spilling a full spoonful of oatmeal on the floor, Mace said, "Oh no! someone spilled oatmilk on the floor."
  • Every time Mace finishes lifting something heavy, he says, "I'm so strong!"
  • Mace had gone to see some chickens with Grandma Donna at their neighbor's house. He got to bring home some eggs. The next morning
    • Me- Mace, I am going to make some eggs for breakfast, do you want some?
    • Mace- Yeah, I do. I saw some chickens with Grandma Donna and actually, those are chicken eggs.
    • Me- They are?
    • Mace-Yeah. And if you break them, you actually have to fix them. (I had never heard him say 'actually.')

  • I kept sneezing and Mace would say things like, "Are you okay mommy?" "You got buggers, Mommy?" "You better stop, Mommy. That's yucky, huh?" "Are you done sneezing?" He have to imagine him saying all this with this certain face he does lately. It is hilarious! This is the face.

  • Mace wasn't listening, I asked him several times to eat his lunch. I finally said, "Do you need a time out? Do you want to be in trouble?" He responded by saying, "I am not on trouble, Cruz is. He needs a time out. He do. Cruz you are a naughty baby!"
  • "Mommy, you have stinky feet like me!"
  • Mace stood on his chair and put one foot on the table and said, "I'm guapo, huh?" (Guapo means good looking-fyi. Didn't know Mace knew the meaning, but his daycare teacher is Hispanic so I am guessing she tells him he is guapo!)
  • "Daddy is a wacko!"

All about Cruz

Cruz is turning into a little boy, right before our eyes. He is developing the cutest personality. We love having him around. It is so much fun to see him grow and learn. He has been crawling all over and has started using the furniture to pull himself up and walk around. He loves playing with his big brother and often beats up on Mace. He loves to laugh and play. One of his favorite games, is peek-a-boo. He is such a fun little boy. Our family is much better with him in it!

Here are some fun pictures we have taken in the last few weeks.

How can you not LOVE this face?

I think he looks like Mace in the picture!

We love you Cruz!

Motherhood

Today, I am thankful for motherhood.
I am thankful for the opportunity I have to be a mother.
I am thankful for my children.
There are days in our lives, that we will never forget.
In my life, two of those unforgettable days, are the days that my children were born.

These are not the most glamorous pictures, but they mean so much to me.

Mace and Me

Cruz and Me

It is not always easy to be a parent, but I am so glad to call myself a mother. I am grateful for the examples around me. I am also grateful for other women and mothers who help me in teaching my kids about the gospel and life in general.

Another thing I am grateful for, are all the mother figures I have in my life. I am grateful to those who have helped me to become the person I am today!

Macer

Cruzer

I love this quote by M. Russell Ballard:
There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. The choice is different and unique for each mother and each family. Many are able to be 'full-time moms,' at least during the most formative years of their children's lives, and many others would like to be. Some may have to work part- or full-time; some may work at home; some may divide their lives into periods of home and family and work. What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and, in keeping with the devotion she has for God and her husband, prioritizes them above all else.

And this one, by President Gordon B. Hinckley:
You women, be kind and gracious and generous. Strengthen your children with your faith and your testimony. Lift them up. Help them to walk through the troubled ways of the world as they grow in this very difficult age. Support, sustain, uphold, and bless your husbands with your love and your encouragement; and the Lord will bless you.

I feel very grateful for the opportunity Heavenly Father has given me. I recently reread my Patriarchal blessing. It was so neat reading it. Part of it gives me guidance about my children. I couldn't help but get emotional. When I got my blessing, nine years ago, I remember thinking that this section was neat, but it is crazy now, that I am a parent, to read it. I feel very humbled. I am thankful for my husband. I think we make a pretty good team, in this journey we call parenthood!

Race for the Cure

This morning, my mom, sisters and I ran in the Race for the Cure 5k.

It was a lot of fun and we enjoyed spending the morning together. I am glad we got to do it together!

(I forgot my camera, so I stole these from my sister's facebook page. Thanks Ty!)

My mom's aunt and my great aunt had breast cancer. We put her name on our shirts because we love and miss her!

Haircuts

My sister gave all the boys a haircut tonight. Everyone looks so handsome!

Mace took this picture of Tyler. I love it!

This is Cruz's first haircut. He got a light all over trim! He is such a sweet little boy.
