Laughing at myself and blaming my sister!

So, I have to write this down because I don't want to forget. Last Friday started a little on the crazy side. I had tons and tons of laundry, needed to go to the store, make a dessert, and pack an over night bag for Mace and I, plus my visiting teachers were coming over to see me. I wasn't too worried, I had plenty of time to do everything. After showering, my sister called me to say that Lynnie's van was dead (Whitney nanny's Lynnie's family.). I thought I'd be a nice sister and help. I drove to her house, chatted for a bit, and played with my sweet little niece and crazy nephew. We thought we had some jumper cables, but turned out we didn't. We said "Oh well. Chad will be home in a while and he can help." I loaded Mace in the car, but as I went to start my car, I saw my headlight switch was in the on position! I couldn't help it, I bust out laughing! I came to help my sister, to rescue her, but instead I only made the problem worse! We now had to dead batteries to figure out! I called my sister, who only laughed more. She called Chad while I called my visiting teacher! Both were willing to help out. In the mean time, I thought I could start my car by popping the clutch. The driveway was angled so I thought I couldn't fail, but my steering wheel locked and so that idea didn't work very well. Chad got there soon after, calling the incident "Classic." We got my car working in a matter of seconds! We had a new problem when we couldn't figure out how to get into the garage to fix Lynnie's car. (Whitney took up the whole garage when she parked.) Luckily that was when Amy came. She brought a portable battery. It wasn't very strong, but at least we were able to change the car from parked to neutral. We let it roll back and Chad was able to get his car close enough to fix the problem. All in all, a big chunk of my day was gone, but it was nice to be able to laugh for a while! I only blame Whitney because if she'd turned her lights out in the first place, I wouldn't have needed to help her! :)

Moral of the story: If you are going to help someone out, make sure you have the necessary tools, and you don't do silly things, like leave your lights on, to make the problems worse!

Love my little Mace!

I am a very proud mommy!
During the last week, Mace started doing a few new things:
  • Mace has figured out that he can move across the room by rolling! It is so much fun to watch! He has been rolling over for a while, but now he can travel! Love it!
  • As of last Friday, Mace has been taking the bottle without too much of a fight! We have been trying to get him to take the bottle since the beginning of November! We haven't been the most consistent parents, but we have tried very hard! We were ready to try the "when he gets hungry enough, he'll take it" method. Luckily, he took it! Maybe he heard us talking, I don't know, but I am so happy!
  • Chasing each other around the house! Tyler or myself will be hold Mace and we take turns chasing each other around. Mace will laugh so hard! He absolutely loves it!

Thanks to Kourtney!

I am really excited to continue blogging because of my wonderful cousin Kourtney! She showed me a few pointers to blogging! I have been wanting to write a post since last week but our laptop has officially died! We are going to get a new one soon. I wish they weren't so expensive, but oh well! Computers are almost impossible to live without! As soon as we get a new one, I will be posting more often and pictures will be included!!
One other bit of excitement is. . . (drum roll please). . . . I FOUND MY WALLET!!! It only took 3 weeks, but I have it! Also, I am becoming much better at putting things a use everyday in the same place, which means I am not loosing them! I have not lost anything this year :) Last week, I bought a really cute bag at Joann's to use as a Sunday bag! Yesterday, it was so nice to be able to get ready without worrying too much about the diaper bag. I packed everything from our lesson manuals to diapers! I loved having one bag to carry that had everything we need in it! That definitely helped me to be more organized!

It's a New Year!

Happy New Year! As the new year starts, we always think of ways to better our lives. I love where I am right now, but I do have a few resolutions that I plan to work on this year.
First, I want to be more organized! I am constantly losing things that are important, like car keys, my cell phone and the most current one is my wallet. I know it will turn up eventually! I was ready to buy a new cell phone last month! I looked everywhere for it (or so I thought!) My wonderful husband found it mixed in with Christmas decorations that I didn't use this year. The sad part is, I was without a cell phone for almost the whole month of December. So, I think becoming more organized is a good goal for me, don't ya think so?

Next, I want to have a stronger testimony. I feel like I have been going through the motions since Mace was born. My goal is to have more gospel conversations with Tyler (FHE) and go to the temple more often.

The last main goal I have is, to learn how to use a sewing machine. I have found a blog that has so many fun ideas. The only problem is I have no idea how to sew, and the terms used in the tutorials make no sense! I want to take a class at Joann's, but Tyler thinks I can find the same info on youtube, so I might try that first!

I am excited for this new year. Last week in church, a girl in the ward talked about seting goals and keeping them. I have a renewed motivations to become a better person! One of my smaller goals is to actually learn more about blogging, but for now, I like keeping it simple :)
