Motherhood

Today, I am thankful for motherhood.
I am thankful for the opportunity I have to be a mother.
I am thankful for my children.
There are days in our lives, that we will never forget.
In my life, two of those unforgettable days, are the days that my children were born.

These are not the most glamorous pictures, but they mean so much to me.

It is not always easy to be a parent, but I am so glad to call myself a mother. I am grateful for the examples around me. I am also grateful for other women and mothers who help me in teaching my kids about the gospel and life in general.

Another thing I am grateful for, are all the mother figures I have in my life. I am grateful to those who have helped me to become the person I am today!

I love this quote by M. Russell Ballard:
There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. The choice is different and unique for each mother and each family. Many are able to be 'full-time moms,' at least during the most formative years of their children's lives, and many others would like to be. Some may have to work part- or full-time; some may work at home; some may divide their lives into periods of home and family and work. What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and, in keeping with the devotion she has for God and her husband, prioritizes them above all else.

And this one, by President Gordon B. Hinckley:
You women, be kind and gracious and generous. Strengthen your children with your faith and your testimony. Lift them up. Help them to walk through the troubled ways of the world as they grow in this very difficult age. Support, sustain, uphold, and bless your husbands with your love and your encouragement; and the Lord will bless you.

I feel very grateful for the opportunity Heavenly Father has given me. I recently reread my Patriarchal blessing. It was so neat reading it. Part of it gives me guidance about my children. I couldn't help but get emotional. When I got my blessing, nine years ago, I remember thinking that this section was neat, but it is crazy now, that I am a parent, to read it. I feel very humbled. I am thankful for my husband. I think we make a pretty good team, in this journey we call parenthood!
