Ewww Dad

Mace is getting pretty good at talking. We are not pretty good at understanding what he is telling us. Every once in a while, Mace will say something and it goes along perfectly with what is going on. Last week, Tyler let out a big burp. Mace immediately says,
"Ewww Dad!"
Tyler and I both burst out laughing!

Eating

I love that Mace loves feeding himself.

That last one makes me laugh! I love my little Macer!

Coloring

Yesterday, I found a box of crayons and some constructions paper.
Who knew Mace would love coloring so much?

Every time I tried to take a picture, he would blink his eyes. I tried to catch it, and this is the best I could do.

Which color is best?

Maybe one of the blues?

I guess even coloring gets boring after a while!

I think we are going to color more often. I got a lot done while he was stuck in his high chair! :)

Family Pictures!

We went to St. George last weekend.
My wonderful cousin, Kourtney took some family pictures for us.
I think they turned out so great!
Go to her website to see more!

Thanks Kourtney! :)

Hello!

This is making me laugh so hard! Listen for when Mace puts the phone to his ear and says, "hello!"

It's the little things that make me smile most

Almost every morning, I make oatmeal for Mace. He loves it!

Well, oatmeal is hot, so I blow on it to cool it down.

Mace has picked up on this, and now helps me blow on food that is too hot!

He is going to destroy those candles, when he turns two!

He has also mastered saying "more" in sign language. He won't say it if he is really hungry, and very impatient.

Meet my brother-in-law, Chad

I think his favorite holiday is Halloween!

I am excited for what he comes up with this year!

He used this costume a few years ago. It had long skeleton arms and he wore stilts. It was awesome! At least, until he fell on me, it was awesome. :)

Future Soccer Star

I was looking through pictures that Tyler had taken of Mace. I found this one. I think it is so cute! Mace looks like he could be on the cover of a soccer magazine for little boys.

I am glad that Tyler does fun things with Mace when I have to go to work.

Herriman Fire

I know this picture is not very high quality.
This is what we could see of the Herriman fire from our house!

We almost moved to Herriman.
They evacuated the neighborhoods we looked at moving to.
I feel bad for those who lost their homes.

I am VERY grateful for my house.

Mace ROCKIN' Out!

My mom gave me the rocking chair I played with as a little girl.

Mace really likes to rock in it.

Tyler made this movie while I was at work the other night!

(Tyler was watching conference on TV.)

How to get rid of a Mouse

This post is about how to get rid of a mouse trapped in your window well.

The first step is to plan a nice, relaxing morning.

We planned to sleep as long as Mace would let us. We made a nice breakfast and headed downstairs to watch General Conference.

This is what we found:

I tried to ignore it and enjoy my breakfast. Luckily, Mace was a good distraction. He got sick and I forgot all about the mouse while Tyler and I cleaned up the throw up and bathed Mace.

The next step is to collect a few things around the house. We emptied a box that Mace's diapers came in and a piece of ply wood from our garage.

Then, it is helpful to locate the mouse, as we have done here:

You then want to lure the mouse into the box. (I do not have a picture of this step.)

Once the mouse is in the box, flip it so that the mouse cannot escape easily.

You will then need a brave man. Luckily, I have Tyler.

Tell your brave man to hop into the window well and carry the box out of the window well. (You can place your ply wood on top of the box to keep the mouse from escaping.)

You may then dispose of the mouse in anyway that you see fit.

Lastly, remember to wash your hands.

Good Luck!

p.s. If you have trouble finding a brave man, I will loan Tyler to you. :)
