Family Trip Day 1

We were lucky enough to be able to go on a family trip over spring break. We had lots of fun and made some great memories. We took so many pictures. 1, 674 pictures to be exact! After sifting through all of them, we think it will be better to blog each day instead of the whole trip in one post. Here are the adventures of our first day.

We dropped the car off at Diamond Parking Services and then they shuttled us to the airport. This was a little after 11:00 PM. We kept the boys awake, so that they could sleep on the plane. We were all so excited and happy to be going on our trip!!

Waiting for the plane to take off.

Tyler made a cute movie of Mace as the plane took off. Mace fell asleep shortly after take off.
Thankfully, both boys slept really well. I wish Tyler and I could say that we slept really well too. Poor Tyler couldn't get comfortable sitting between the kids.

We were so happy that Brad met us soon after getting off the plane. Liz met us a short time later. We were glad to see them and to not feel like we were going to get lost.

We went back to their apartment and crashed for a while. Brad went to a class, while Liz watched Mace. Tyler and I needed a little nap. After Brad got back, we headed out.

We stopped at the shake shack for lunch. They had pretty good food! By this time, the boys needed a nap!

We went to Grand Central Station. It is huge! It was really cool to see.
We tried doing some long exposure shots with our camera. This was the only one that really turned out.

Tyler, throwing Macer in the air!

Aunt Liz and Cruzer!

We stopped at the UN building. Their was a cool ball shaped sculpture there. This is our reflection in it!

Times Square. It was freezing! We stopped in the M & M building to warm up a bit!

Cookie Monster and Mace.

Another couple of long exposure pictures of the subway.

Cruzer woke up! I think he was a little shocked by everything going on!

Back at the hotel room. We stayed in a really nice hotel. It was tiny, but that's okay!

We originally booked a room at a different hotel (Hotel Carter), but before we left on our trip, Tyler did some research and found this on Wikipedia:
"It has been ranked the dirtiest hotel in America four years running.[5] Numerous reports on TripAdvisor warn of bedbug infestation and unsafe conditions."
I am so glad we changed our reservations. It did end up costing more, but worth it if you ask us! From now on, we will always reseach our hotel rooms before booking a trip!

We had a great first day. The kids were so good. It was a good think we packed a backpack for Cruz because he was in it basically the whole trip!
