Trek was amazing!
Tyler and I were a Ma and Pa!
We had three girls and five boys.
Shali. Laura. Lauren. Wesley. Tanner. Graig. Luke. James.
We seriously had the best family.
We dealt with the heat, the wind, the dust and a little rain.
The first day, we found that our Kool-Aid can had been punctured-We learned that a little bit of powder goes a long way.
The first night, we found out more about the members in our family- We learned that we could be friends
The second day, we found our cooler empty when it was time for lunch- We learned how to beg for food from other families.
The second night, we found a dance partner- We learned how to have fun by doing the pat-a-cake polka!
The third day, the four girls pushed our handcart for over a mile, all uphill- We learned that we can do hard things, the men learned that women are capable and strong.
The last night, we listened as members of our family and others bore their Testimony- We pondered about our own feelings about the pioneers and our testimony.
The last day, we said our goodbyes- We learned how much we had grown over the past three and a half days. We learned how to befriend someone. We learned not to judge a book by its cover. We learned that we can be pioneers today. We learned how to help each other. We learned about love.
I am so grateful that Tyler and I were able to experience this together. We had so much fun. I love each of our new children. They are amazing. I really, REALLY hope we get another opportunity like this in the future!
