Lake Blanche with the Young Men

On Friday -Saturday I got to go on a backpacking trip with the young men in our ward.

Lake Blanche with Sundial Peak

A view of the Great Salt Lake from Lake Blanche at sunset

A long exposure of Sundial Peak and some of the boys walking around.

A few of the boys in our group were walking down by the lake while others warmed up by the campfire.

Cousin Day

Cooper and Lucy are moving to a new house. We invited them to come over and play, so their parents' could get things done. We had a lot of fun!

Cooper was so fun and helpful. He is a great big brother. He is really excited about having another in his family.
Lucy is such a great little girl. Her and Mace seemed to always want the same toy. Luckily, Coop would intervene and make sure they were being nice.
Mace loved having his cousins around. Poor Cruz, he was the center of attention for these little kids. He got lots of  hugs, kisses and smothering!

Mace's Orange Bike

Mace discovered that it is fun to go down hills on his bike.

Some of the hills he went down were pretty steep for a two year old.

He had a few crashes.

And a few ouchies.

But he loved it.

It makes me excited for when he gets a little bigger and can go up in the mountains.

Oh Motherhood

Motherhood. Sometimes, it goes like this:

I was just starting to look forward to going to bed soon, when all of a sudden, I heard the noise. It is one of those noises, that tells you "gotta move fast!" I looked down as soon as I heard it. I was already too late.

Cruz had covered me.

Yuck.

But then, all he has to do is smile, and all is forgiven!

Tour of Southern Utah

We went on a big trip over last weekend.  We drove about 1,000 miles and visited a bunch of the coolest places in Utah.  It was definitely not a relaxing trip.
Wednesday we drove to Green River
Thursday we drove to Goblin Valley, Capitol Reef, and Torrey.
Friday we drove to Kodachrome Basin, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, and Hurricane
Saturday we drove to Zions and then to St. George
Sunday we drove home.

Here is Cruz at a park in Green River

Goblin Valley.  Mace sure looks happy to be there.

Mace had fun playing hide and seek and jumping off the rocks

Lyndsay spotted some Desert Bighorn Sheep on the side of the road in Capitol Reef.

There are some awesome petroglyphs on the side of the road.

My favorite picture from the trip.

We watched some awesome storm clouds blow through.  The thunder would echo off of the cliffs; making it especially eerie.  Sadly, that same day a guy in Bryce Canyon was struck by lightning. http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/52421242-78/lightning-kunz-bryce-canyon.html.csp
