Poor Tyler.
He is finally over his shingles.
I know these pictures get kind of gross.
Sorry about that.
For Tyler, the shingles started out as a funny feeling, like he had slept wrong. The pain got worse and even felt like he had a cut across his neck. Then, the blisters started appearing. He started feeling tingling and numbness going down his left arm, into his fingers. That is when I got scared. We didn't know what to do, so Tyler went to his mom's house. She instantly diagnosed him with shingles. Tyler then went to an instacare to confirm the diagnosis and get on some medication.
These pictures are all from Sunday to Tuesday. This was right before we left for trek.

The blisters got even worse than the worst picture. I didn't take any pictures while we were on trek. The last day of trek is when the blisters started to scab over and start feeling better! Did you know that shingles is a form of chicken pox? I didn't know that when you get chicken pox, the virus never goes away completely. It goes dormant in your nervous system and can flare up when you least expect. (They say stress can trigger it.)
I am proud of Tyler. He has been dealing with shingles and a lot of other crazy stressful stuff in life. Shingles is painful and Tyler didn't complain about it. I feel bad because I would forget and try to give him a shoulder massage, only to cause him to wince a little from the pain.
p.s. I don't know why all of the pictures are not the same size.
I uploaded them all from my cell phone??
