Backpacking to Catherine Pass

This is what backpacking with a 2 year old and a 3 year old looks like.  You get to choose between carrying a 66lb backpack or a 33lb squirmy kid with an additional 7lbs of clothes.

We are trying to teach Mace how to smile for the camera instead of just show his teeth.

Fortunately, it is still cute when he just shows his teeth.

There was a beautiful sunset from our campsite.

Mace hiked the whole thing by himself.  In just the past couple weeks, he has hiked Doughnut Falls, Stella lake in Great Basin, Osceola Ditch in Great Basin, and to Catherine Pass all by himself (plus the help of many bags of fruit snacks).  We are proud of him.

The flowers were beautiful.  The mountains were covered in yellow.

4th of July Trip - Delta and Great Basin National Park

As has become somewhat of a tradition, we went to Delta for the 4th of July

This is essentially what it is:

The library was throwing books out.  Here is the one that was thrown, a romance novel.

We went to the demolition derby that night.

The next morning we drove to Great Basin National Park

We went through Lehman caves

We found a campsite

Then went on a hike to Stella Lake

There are Bristle-cone pine in the area that are over 4,000 years old

Wheeler peak is awesome!  Over 13,000 ft with a cliff face near 2,000 ft
