Mace's Third Birthday Party

For the past several months, Mace and I have been planning his birthday party. Together we planned the theme, the guest list, the menu and even the activities. It was so much fun working together. I don't know who was more excited, me or Mace!

It was so much fun to get the big day started! Mace and Cruz went to their grandpa's house, while Tyler and I finished the party preparations. We finished just before the party was to start. Tyler raced to his parent's house to get Mace and Cruz. Mace was almost late to his own party!

Once the party started, Mace could only focus on opening his birthday presents. After trying to distract him several times, we finally let him open his gifts. I am not really sure, who gave what. Everything got opened and everyone was playing with all the new toys before I could blink.

After the gifts were opened, we headed up stairs for lunch. We made rocket PB&Js with carrots for flames, star and moon fruit and string cheese. Everyone seemed to like their food.

We watched rocket launches on youtube

We played pin the rocket on the planet.

We went outside and the kids watched as Tyler and Chad did a few 'rocket' experiments. We did the mentos and diet coke and also pressurized the air inside a 2-liter bottle and shot it high in the sky. The kids thought both were pretty cool.

We sang happy birthday and had cupcakes and rocket popsicles.

We made and gave each of the kids their own jet pack.

I painted this rocket ship on a big cardboard box. It was fun (and tougher than I would have thought) to get each child in there with Mace and have both of them smiling.

Overall, the party was a HUGE success. It was so much fun to see Mace soaking in his special day. He had such a good time. I think he was a little sad when the party was over. He has asked me a few times if he can have another party for his birthday. I told him he can have a party when he is four, so needless to say, we are already planning his next party! :) I definitely learned a few things for the next time we have so many little kids at our house!

Running Boys

The boys have been spending a lot more time in the running stroller lately. Tyler and I enjoy running together and since we are training for the St. George Marathon, we spend a lot of time running. Mace loves to run with us. He gets his little running shoes on and runs for about an 1/8 of a mile. He loves to wear my finishers metal from my San Diego run.

I love this and hope that after the marathon is over, we can keep running together and making fun memories!

Cookie Monster

When Mace was born, my grandma gave him the cutest cookie monster stuffed animal. Mace has always loved it. Cruz has been so jealous of it. Well, for Cruz's birthday, my grandma gave him his own cookie monster. It is really cute watching him. This cookie monster has a backpack with cookies that you can put in his mouth. Cruz has already figured out how to put the in and then find them in his backpack and then start over.

Playing with Cruz's birthday presents

It is so much fun watching the kids play together. It is nice having new toys! They are such great little buddies!

Swimming

We love having a pool in our neighborhood!
