San Diego

Recently, I headed to San Diego with several girls from Tyler's family. We all ran the San Diego Rock and Roll Half Marathon. It was so much fun! Our theme for the trip was "Barbie Babes with Babies on the Beach!" It was great because a lot of us had, had a baby during the previous year. We all motivated each other as we worked on getting back in shape. I traveled with Jan, Ashley, Kristen and Allie. I didn't know any of these girls very well, but I am glad I got to. They are all super fun!!

We stopped in Beaver to fill up with gas, get some dance footage and wear these awesome shirts!

We also had the van totally decked out!

We even put a barbie on the antenna. We were sure someone would steal her, but she hung out with us our entire trip. (She wasn't so pretty by the end. Her hair was so wind blown and her face was covered in bugs. Poos Barbie!)

Out first night together, we all dressed up and went out for dinner.

At the expo and packet pick up!

The group of us!

We made up a dance and performed it at Balboa Park in San Diego. It sounded so intimidating, but turned out to be really fun. :)

Bright and Early! We took a bus from our hotel to the starting line. It was crazy! We were totally on a party bus! The lights were dimmed, and there were green and red little lights flashing all over the place. I felt bad for Ashley. She didn't feel well and the party bus didn't help at all.

There was even a pole in the middle of our bus, and the driver had a drape to separate him from the rest of the bus.

Allie, warming up! :)

Here we are, about to run the race!

Me, during the race. :)

Finished!! Talking to my love!

More of our group.

Jan and I ran together for a good portion of the race. She helped keep our pace since I didn't have a watch. I honestly surprised myself. I wanted to finish in 2:30, but really hoped to finish closer to 2:15. I thought it would be cool to finish in under two hours, but didn't feel like I could actually do it. I was so happy to when I found out that my finishing time was 1:57:28!!!!
Now I want to compete again and try to improve my time!

Here is all the girls that ran, except for Shellie. She was the only one who ran the full marathon.

The race benefited Lymphoma and Leukemia. It was special for me, because my little sister, Whitney, is a lymphoma survivor and my cute cousin, Lexe, is fighting the battle of leukemia right now. I thought about them a lot during my race.

After the race, we drove to LA to drop Allie off at the airport.

As Jan put it, "We deserved those calories!" I couldn't agree more!

We went to a placed called the Getty. I really enjoyed it and want to go back someday.

The statue said "face of an athlete." Kristen and I were trying to make the same face. :)

Moab Trip

Last year, Tyler and a bunch of his friends took a man trip and climbed/skied some awesome mountains. They wanted to do it again this year, but there was hardly any snow. They then planned to go to Moab and do some tough bike rides. In the end, it turned out that only one guy from the group could go. So, we turned the trip into a family camping trip. I wan't too excited to travel and camp, but we had so much more fun than I thought it would be.

Mace, being silly on the drive.

Cruzer and me. I think I look like a teenager in this picture!

Sticks were a big hit with our boys!

This is a new favorite picture of Tyler and Me!

The couple we camped with have a little boy, five days older than Cruz. They are destined to be buds for life! It was so cute watching Cruz and Gage together.

We recently bought a raft to replace our kayaks. I think we will enjoy this raft of ours. Mace LOVED being in the "boat." Cruz, on the other hand, cried for most of our trip down the river. He hated the life jacket!

Another new favorite picture!

Mace loved helping Tyler with the paddle.

We are not sure what Cruz was doing with the rope, but it kept him happy for a while.

He thought he was pretty funny!

Cruz has such a cute smile.

This picture cracks me up. I love this cheesy grin!

We got some updated silhouette pictures!

This one is of Greg, Mallary and their baby, Gage.

Tyler was flipping Mace over his shoulders.

And this one, Mace was doing a flip.

We had planned to stay in a hotel the last night, but ended up cancelling our reservations and camped. It was a wonderful trip!
